Dress Shape Guide
In this guide
we will run you through the shape of the cuts and what figure this will best suit, bear in mind though this is just a guide!!
Ballgown/ Full Skirt
The Cinderella
dress!! These are the most traditional shaped dress for the bride after the classic elegant look. The typical dress has a
fitted bodice with a dropped or natural waistline accompanied by a full skirt. This dress will suit a wide variety of figures
especially those with curves.
Empire Line
This dress is
cut with the skirt starting just below the bustline therefore making it great for brides that have a smaller bust area and
slim figure it is also a popular choice for brides that are pregnant. This is a dress for someone who doesn’t want it
to be figure hugging.
A-Line
Just as it says!
This dress creates an A shape look. The bodice is normally fitted with a flared skirt ranging from slight to extreme. This
is also a dress that suits almost anyone and is another popular classic choice.
Column/ Straight Skirt
This design
is for the bride who wants the modern, chic look. This dress gives a slim profile and follows to body’s curves. This
style will flatter tall, slim or petite brides.
Mermaid
This style is
similar to the column mentioned above except it is a lot more figure hugging and flares out at the bottom. The skirt is often
cut on the diagonal and is for the bride who wishes to accentuate her curvaceous figure.
Fishtail
Once again similar
to both the column and mermaid styles from the front appearance. The only difference is that this style has an extra panel
at the back which fans out hence the name. If you fit the description of the column or mermaid then this will look great on
you!
